Hotel cardosa is a great hotel to stay when visiting Maputo, but if you are used to SADC rates for hotels, you will be in for somewhat of a shock. It is expensive in relation to other hotels of similar grading in south Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Namibia, at least
But it is well situated and great breakfasts

Maputo can get very hot (it did!) and so their location at the top of the hill overlooking the bay means you catch the cooling breeze that makes sitting outside in the poolsdie garden a real pleasure.

This hotel needs to upgrade their rooms and bathrooms in order to earn their 4 star status and to substantiate their very high rates! As a business traveller the lack of a proper chair to use at the desk was an anoyance and made it uncomfortable to work

The Cardoso Hotel caters for both business and pleasure. The sea facing rooms have a spectacular view of the Maputo Bay and Catembe. You can enjoy the view from the privacy of your own balcony. Watching the sun setting over Mozambique was my ultimate favourite viewing experience.

I stayed here with a band of colleagues on a couple of weekends in Maputo. The rooms weren't bad, although the shower was badly designed and had a bit of mold on the caulk. Not the worst thing in the world, but worth noting.

Spent two nights, if I had the cash I would stay here for the rest of the year!
The view from the restaurant/bar is amazing and that coupled with great food, it's hard/difficult/impossible to get yourself out of the hotel and exploring!
