We were given a huge suite of rooms for a one night stay, at the furthest point from the main reception area. The double bedded room did not have air conditioning. The shower was a hand held one, in the bath, not what you expect for these prices or grand claims of the hotel. The room bar did not contain... more

This was the single worst hotel and a huge rip off. The "staff" was completely useless and could not help us with a simple reservation (I am not sure if the staff was able to use the phone) but rather stared blankly at any request we had including a request for hot water for tea at breakfast. The rooms were... more

Could be a lovely hotel, but is highly overrated. Service was slow, rude, and inadequate at reception and breakfast room. Paths leading to rooms were no lit up until at least two hours after nightfall, making it a bit dangerous, especially for little children. The empty soda cans and pizza cartons from a take-out dinner were left in the room... more

Simply Terrible. It would be the worst place we have ever stayed. The room was dark and cold. The airconditioner didn't work so the staff provided electric blankets and heater. Sometimes the hot water worked. The place had a spooky feel to it. The food wasn't too bad though. But don't buy any wine. At US$ 50 for an ordinary... more

We stayed at Villa Verdi in Windhoek at both ends of a self-drive week through Namibia. While their website growingly claims that they ... "set the standards for boutique accommodation in Windhoek" ... we sadly found that this was not the case. The first night, we were put in a very sparsely furnished room adjacent to the pool (Room 5),... more

Windhook , Villa Verdi: A friendly experience. 19 May 2008. Rooms are large, comfortable, perhaps a little cold, but you can ask for an electric blanket . All the stafff in the Guest House are kindly and efficient. They help us with the luggage, which has been lost during the flight in South Africa by the airline (Malaysia Airline). We... more

An uninspiring place with limited secure parking. The lodgings look much better in the slick brochure. The rooms are dark and uninviting, and are adorned with a hotchpotch of furniture. The beds are good, though. The curtains had not been washed in ages. The breakfast was mediocre. Fortunately, there are some good restaurants nearby. We dined at ‘Nice’ which is... more

Staff generally very friendly, caring and helpful. We arrived early and could already get into our room at 1100. Location very convenient for shopping (10 minutes) and town centre (15 minutes walk). On day of departure from Namibia we could stay as day guests and use the pool and towels. Room clean and well maintained for African standards. Food was... more

This is the worst accomodation I have ever stayed in. Tiny room with cheap fittings, broken floor and wall tiles, scruffy bathroom, paper thin towels, colllapsed mattress , no hot water etc etc. When I complained the staff were extremely pleasant and offered me another room which I never took as it wasn't much better. The next morning I saw... more

I hereby want to inform you that Villa Verdi is currently being completely refurbished, this to be completed end of June 2008. Furthermore we are opening a brand new African Lounge Restaurant at Villa Verdi. By completion Villa Verdi will definitely be one of the most luxury guesthouses in Windhoek, rate is also not increasing resulting thus in the best...
