We were in Lome for one day. Our travel agent booked us the Mercure Sarakawa. When we got there, it was quite disgusting and it looked pretty run-down. So we decided to go to the Corinthia, which we passed by when we did the city tour. During the check-in, we realized that it might not be the right decision. Well, we couldn't change our mind again as it was getting a bit late in the evening. So we decided to stay there. The rooms were okay or average size. The service was, at best, mediocre. The view from the room was very nice, However, the windows were dirty. It ruined the nice view. I haven't stayed at the Mercure but I think the Mercure would be slightly better!

My room (a standard room on the 15th floor) was relatively spacious but it was a throwback to the 1970s also: bright orange carpet, a very old nightstand set up with pre-set button radio, an ancient wake-up call system, etc. The bed was...
