Best choice in Kathmandu, located in Kupondole Heights (Sanepa), great view, good restaurant, and a small swimming pool. Rooms are excellent, WLAN access available. more

I've stayed at the Summit Hotel a minimum of four times, and visited it often when I was living in Kathmandu as it was in the area. What's not mentioned in other reviews here is that the Summit Hotel also has a guesthouse level of accommodation, with rooms with a shared bathroom, in a guesthouse attached to the main hotel.... more

I stayed there two times, once for work, the other time before/after a trek. I enjoyed it very much both times. The place is in a quiet area (Patan), close to the center of Kathmandu by Taxi. Patan also has nice places to visit, eat,... so it is very convenient. The hotel is located near embassies, some UN agencies,... The... more

Excellent garden providing an oasis of peace in busy Kathmandu. Nice pool overlooking traditionally built garden wing. Buffet breakfast is generous and with corteous staff. In may, beautiful Jakaranda trees flower. Far away from restaurants but walking distance from Patan - what you need in Kathmandu more

As a first impression of Kathmandu - the Summit was fantastic. It had lovely gardens - a combination of wild flora with manicured lawns - and the people were so friendly and accommodating. The price was reasonable and the service was warm and friendly. I would greatly recommend this hotel to anyone. more

During our great stay in Nepal this was one of the most expensive hotels we had, so you might expect something special. Nothing however was less true. The garden view room is small, no airco, outdated bathroom, hardly any hot waterpressure (!!!) and the swimming pool has the size of a postcard stamp...... One positive thing: the room was clean.... more

Great hotel. A local friendly feel – nothing like the normal sterile offerings you get if you want hot water and satellite TV. Very friendly and relaxed, great staff, good mountain views (on clear days) and a good area away from strike/demonstration hot spots. WiFi, nice gardens, very quiet, all in all good value. 50/50 NGO folks and tourists. However... more

The Summit is an excellent place to stay for some days: it is just between the cities of Kathmandu and Patan, it is on a low hill with superb views on the Himalaya (the best in Kathmandu), it has a wonderful garden cum pool, the staff is the frendliest I have ever encoutered in Asia, end the rooms are good... more
