The hotel is built into a temple style and has a very attractive courtyard. Service was friendly. The standard rooms were pretty basic but clean. There was no TV, but candles for the daily citywide blackouts (hotel has it's own generator which supplies power). Hotel was situated pretty close to everything; the main sights and restaurants. Hotel tries to be... more

KTH is a marvelous little hotel off a side street only five minutes walking from the hustle and bustle of Thamel and the Durbar. The design and construction are pretty unique even in Kathmandu. The owner is on site every day checking on things and making sure everything is in order. He is also very eco-oriented and promotes an awareness... more

This is one of the nicest places you can stay in Kat, unless you're the Hyatt and Ritz type, and it's reputation for quiet and great service is well deserved. The city is a dizzying mixture of noise, pollution, people and vibrancy, and any opportunity to enjoy an oasis of calm is greatly appreciated. The power outages were hardly a... more

My 3-day stay in the Kantipur Temple House Hotel was ideal, and not just in terms of location. Sited just 50 meters or so from the old city in an area that seems to be being redeveloped, walking around the main sights is simplicity itself, provided you have a reliable map! The hotel calls itself a “boutique” hotel. Whilst it... more

This place was lovely. The building is beautiful, the garden and roof-top are really nice to chill out away from the madness of the city, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the room was great. This was far nicer than any other hotel I stayed in while in Nepal and of an excellent standard compared to others. I would... more

Starting from the complimentary airport pick up through to the personal greetings from the hotel owner, our whole stay was a positive, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. It is so close to the main shopping areas of Thamel without any noise or hassle. Everything is conducted in traditional Nepalese style but at the same time catering for the typical needs... more

I stayed at three different hotels during my time in Kathmandu and I have to say that this was the best by far. It is not exactly the hotspot in town but it is walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and the world heritage Durbar Square. The building is absolutely beautiful and provides an authentic and unique experience. Staff... more

Stayed here for 5 nights and didn't regret a bit of it. Nice ethnic design, perfectly located just quite enough from the Thamel bustle yet in the midst of it all. Was also good to see someone concerned about the trash problem prevalent throughout Nepal. No plastic bottles, free cloth bags on offer for shopping. Just liked it all and... more

The Kantipur Temple House is simply wonderful. If you want the best experience in Kathmandu, this is the hotel to stay at: clean, large, wonderful romantic rooms. Excellent food and service and real, authentic experience. Kathmandu is a crazy, dirty, fun city. It's nice to have a well-located, quite place to stay while making your way past the madness. more
