Stayed here twice. Left some luggage whilst "travelling", easy access to Thamel shops, restaurants and buses to Pokhara etc. We went on their advertised tour of Kathmandu, a great way of seeing so much in a short period. IG House is just a few minutes walking distance from the happening Thamel. It is no less than a museum with antique collection. The International Guest House is one of the very nicest place to stay at Kathmandu. Great interior, great hopitality, good rooms, good breakfast and OK retaurant are the key features. This place is off the beaten path by about 1 minute... it is a gem. Arrived here from India... and what an oasis. We stayed in a suite room in December 2008 and thought it was quite nice; we even extended our stay here (and didn't move on to Nagarkot as planned) as we were quite comfortable.
