Airport pick up for free, staff were friendly and helpful. Nice clean hotel, clean bathrooms! we stayed for 4 days. Usual services, trekking advice, car hire etc. We only ate there once, at breakfast, food was usual kathmandu standard, but the service was poor. Only real let down is the 10 min walk into thamel centre. Overall a good place... more

In October and December I had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Ganesh Himal. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel is run by a family and as a result, the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. Maya the wife of the owner spent a day with me in Kathmandu shopping and over lunch I learned so... more

My wife and I stayed at the Ganesh Himal twice during our trip to Nepal, and found the rooms to be clean, the staff helpful, and the restaurant prices to be reasonable. The hotel is just outside of the tourist area of Thamel, an advantage I think. The hotel also has a nice garden, roof terrace and balconies on each... more

We stayed at the Hotel Ganesh Himal for one night in November, before moving to the Tibet Guest House. We had arranged for a pickup from the airport, but our flight into Kathmandu was delayed by about two hours. When we arrived at the hotel, they were very upset that we were not there when we had arranged for a... more

Stayed here at the end of a number of Nepal besed activities- Bhaktapur temples, rafting on the Trisuli, doing the Royal Trek in the foothills around Pokara and the Chitwan elephant safari, so needed a good place to chill and explore the chaos of Kathmandu, and the Himal Ganesh was perfect. The beds were the most comfortable of all we... more

I Checked into the Hotel Ganesh Himal on May !8th, 2009. After traveling in Asia for six weeks, I had 2 months left on my three and a half month adventure. From the Lonely Planet review, I expected a modest, clean hotel. What I found, was paradise. The rooms were clean to western standards... what a treat for a budget... more

We arrived Kathmandu on Oct 2nd. I booked 3 rooms in August through internet and got the confirmation from Mukhiya gurung, the boss of the hotel. On the Oct 1st, one day before we left for Nepal. They sent an email to me saying: I am sorry to inform to you that some group extended their stay in our Hotel... more

I was picked up by the friendly hotel staff from the airport and we drove back to the hotel. It took about 20 mins. Upon my arrival to the hotel, I was greeted by two very hospitable ladies at the reception. After filling up a form which all guests do, I was given a welcome drink of my choice and... more
