We stayed in the castle before and after our trek and found it to be the perfect place to relax. The pool was a great bonus but so too were the wonderful views and the abundance of wildlife. Joe and Sophia (the owners) were very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable... more

Perfect place to relax and recharge. We wanted some R&R after 5 weeks trekking and Joe and his staff certainly provided all we needed. Go stay there - you won't be disappointed! And, never mind being in Nepal...indulge in an Irish breakfast in the morning and an Irish whisky in the evening. Whoever complains about the lovely stroll up the... more

We came back from our trek to ABC and wanted a place to relax. Well, we definately found it!! Days by the pool, eating great food prepared by the kitchen staff, served by friendly waiters and nights spent drinking in the "olde style pub" were just what we needed. The landscaped surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Slept like a baby... more

I stayed at castle resort with my friend nigel for 6 days in august. Place amazing in all respects. Views fantastic, accomodation faultless and very reasonable. Our hosts Joe and sophia could not do enough for us the entire time we were there. Added to same, when my friend fell ill, sophia was there to offer whatever assistance she could.... more

I was recommended 'The Castle Resort' by some friends and I must say it exceeded my expectations by far! A short walk from Pkhara/Lakeside incl a hike up the hill (we're in Nepal -remember - hence there are hills and mountains, ok!?), you arrive at the Hotel which is situated on the hill side, beautifully overlooking the lake. Rooms are... more

The rooms were great, the place is funky and beautiful. But - there were 5 dead roaches in the main hallway that no one cleared for 2 days!!! WTF? That aside, this plae was a good value, however, there is only a very bad dirt road to get there, which means if it rains you have to carry your bags... more

I am 66yrs old it takes me 8 mins to walk to the road, For US$1 a taxi will take you to the middle of the town or a 25 mins walk. I walk up in 12 mins. The hall is swept at 7am every morning. In the monsoon (Mid-June to Mid-Sept) our staff carry guests bags. The road is...

Either a 15 minute walk or a vehicle up a rough track/road takes you to the "Castle", where the Irish flag is flying (hence my title!) The views are great and you are taken away from the bustle of Pokhara. Definately deserves to be called quirky, and yes, I would return. The swimming pool although small is quite adequate. more

I stayed with Joe at the Castle Resort on the front and back end of a trip to the mountains. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay both times though they were too short! Set up on the hillside (a 20-30 minute walk up from the main area of Lakeside) it was a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle that is... more

My husband and I have just come back from a marvellous trip to Nepal, visiting our daughter who is doing some voluntary work there. While in Pokhara we all stayed at the Hotel Castle Resort and it was a special experience. The hotel is perched above the lake with wonderful views all around. And it sits in its mountain setting... more

For people who prefer quiet natural surroundings, this is a great place. The food is delicious and the atmosphere welcoming and happy. As you climb the steep hill up from the lake, you are cheered on by a sign, "I am climbing the steps to Paradise." Once up at the Castle, you can enjoy watching the ever-changing moods of the... more
