Staying at Sapana was a highlight of our trip to Nepal. After weeks trekking and time spent in Kathmandu, staying at Sapana was like a breath of fresh air. The lodge itself was well laid out, preserving our privacy, but also poviding a communal atmosphere through a centrally located eating area that also functioned well as a place to just... more

We stayed at Sapana in April 2009. The rooms were clean and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for Durbha, who organised elephant washing, a tour of Sauhara and a memorable elephant trek in the jungle. The food and drink were fabulous, and the focus on sustainable development and poverty alleviation in the local area distinguished this place from... more

Especially, friendship with tharu was a very wonderful experience. Memories that another doesn't have can be done. I wanted to stay for a while. There was no time and it was regrettable. The meal of the restaurant is also delicious. I was able to relax as being in the house. I am Japanese. The Japanese was only us. I am... more

Stay in Sapana Village for 2 nights in Aug. Everything was good, the place, service, guide, programme.. Visiting the jungles and seeing the wild rhinos, deers, crocodiles would definitely be exciting. I would highly recommend to visit the Tharu Village to know more about the local culture, I'm sure you would get incredible experience there. Thanks for all nice staffs... more

Originally Chitwan is very hot area, but when I was there, it was very cool. The room is just excellent. Sometimes the electricity is out, but it's same everywhere in Nepal. The food there is buffet style and it's very delicious. more

Sapana Village Lodge does everything right. The service extremely accomodating with out being intrusive. Ram runs the office and is delirously friendly, Rirpa runs the restaurant and is there whenver you are, regardless whether it is 6am for an elephant ride or 9pm. Anjaya who leads the jungle trips knows both the local and latin names for much of the... more

The rooms are basic but very comfortable, the food is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for Dhurba the owner and his staff, they are all so kind and helpful. We had a great time washing the elephants, stalking Rhino and... more

Beautiful rooms and lovely location with a lounge next to the river. The room and bathroom are very big and convenient. Lovely bed. We found it very luxurious, after the hostels in Thamel. The lodge has a nice restaurant and the staff is very kind and will help you organise your day programme. They offer very good options, for example... more

We visited Sapana Village Lodge as independent travelers, and we enjoyed our stay immensely. We selected it because we were attracted by the variety of interesting programs available, but it's also a lovely place to stay with great food and a marvelous staff. You can arrange a multi-day trek or take part in cultural or nature activities. We did a... more
