it is a great place. if you are on the tai pan floor, you get free flow champaign at tai pan lounge almost around the day. the robins steak house is the best steak place in taipeh, and i come here since more than 20 years. staff is really attentative, although sometimes you have to say things twice if you... more

I tried three different top hotels in Taiwan, the Ambassador in Hsinchu, the Maple Landis in Beitou and the Regent. The Regent is the cheapest among the three yet the best one. The location is excellent, the room is spacious and clean and the bathroom is exactly what I would like it to be - separate bathtub and shower, huge... more

i have been staying at this hotel for many times for business. u can expect everything from here as a 5-star hotel. however, too pricy for personal travelers as there are many more choices of nice hotels in taipei. more

The Grand Formosa was a good hotel and I left with a nice experience. The staff 95% of the time was friendly and professional. The only problem was a concierge that was not familiar with the Five Cent Driftwood Restaurant. She gave me a rough idea of the location and it was completely wrong. It is a good thing that... more

The Regent Formosa is actually a Four Seasons hotel and the rate is very reasonable, one of the cheapest Four Seasons Hotel I can find. Booking directly through the website only costs abut $180 per night. However, since I was transitting in Taipei and had to check in/check out during odd hours, they charged me 1.5 times the regular rate.... more

Stayed for 4 nights at the executive floor - rooms were excellent, simple, comfortably and spacious. Overall, very imressed with the hotel - not super unique boutique luxury, but definitely solid on comfort! The only downside is the saturday/sunday brunch - the restaurant is a very populat local brunch spot, and it turns into a complete circus at brunch time... more

The Regent is a very good but somewhat expensive hotel. The room I staid in was well equipped. The bathroom was clean and had both a shower stall and bath tub. The bed was one of the best I've slept in at any hotel. The hotel is a decent value but it's not cheap. The breakfast, which cost $20 was... more

The location is excellent, within comfortable walking distance of Zhongshan MRT and plenty of good shops and restaurants around. Although situated on busy Zhongshan North Road, the hotel has the advantage of being well set back from the street, with its own driveway where taxis are always available. If you’re with heavy luggage or mobility issues make sure your cab/bus... more

stayed 2 nights for a reasonable price, as a Taiwanese myself, I kind know which place to stay and to avoid. First, the location is above average, less than 5 mins walk to the metro station. and it has the only duty free shop that is facilitate within the hotel in taipei. shopping has no problem at all. Staff is... more

We stayed at Grand Formosa Regent Taipei for 5 nights in mid Dec 2008. It's a great place to stay in Taipei. Nice, clean & spacious rooms. The Staff were very friendly & helpful. However, location from Zhong Shan MTR is a little far but lots of shops along the way to the MTR station. Otherwise, taxis are readily accessible.... more
