Great hotel and the staff were wonderful. The room was well appointed and very clean and the bed soft (for Asia standards). The exec lounge had hot breakfast available. The hotel is right next to a metro stop and the bus to/from the airport was easy to catch. Central station is only about a 10 min walk and its close... more

It is difficult to describe the 'Lai Lai', as this hotel is still affectionately known. I have stayed here on at least 10 occasions over the past 20 years and it is predictably good. Always clean, with large rooms, good food, and efficient staff and always busy. I have tried other hotels, but always end up coming back here. For... more

My first trip to Taipei, so wasn't really sure what to expect from the city or this hotel. The hotel had been suggested by colleagues we were travelling with, as we were speaking at a conference organized at the same location. Taipei doesn't really seem to have a central business district and stuff seems to be thrown randomly around over... more

Stayed for 6 nights in early Oct 09. Upgraded to a premier room on executive club floor, which included breakfast, internet, laundry worth TWD500 per day and use of the club. The charge was almost 40% above the rate of the same room on a non-executive club floor. The best feature of the hotel is the location - old part... more

Like most Sheratons, this hotel is well decorated and equipped. It is a great place to stay when on business. There are plenty of restaurant choices and a nice little bar/lounge for drinks with colleagues. It is conveniently located and makes traveling around Taipei easy. Don't fall for the hard sell the check-in staff tries on you to upgrade to... more

We had an okay experience with this hotel, which is not cheap. On the positive side, it is very well located (proximate to tourist sites, government offices, the subway, the train station, et cetera), has a lot of amenities (e.g., nice in-room sundries, multiple hotel restaurants), is well staffed, and has a nice--albeit small--roof-top pool and a Squash court, too.... more

This is a very elegant hotel. Great lobby area and restaurant. The room is quite elegant, but the best part is the bathroom. marble floors and easy access showers, very well designed. Lot's of extras like your paper in a bag, slippers etc Great mezzanine area. Lots of chinesse artifacts around the hotel. The hotel offers a very good buffet... more

We stayed at this hotel from May 31-June2, 2009. We were on the exec floor (1528) which is a nice size room. But I have no comparison for other hotels in Taipei so I'm not sure if some people might think it was small. It was a beautifully decorated room with good closet space. The bathroom was all marble with... more
