This hotel is a great place to stay for weekend getaway in Taipei. The room is pretty spacious...clean and comfortable. There's also alot of food/cafe/stores nearby. This is not one of the best options in Taipei. Alternative: Sheraton. The location is good, being close to a large department store and the metro station. Some notes: It caters to primarily Japanese business men. So, their English service is not as good as their Japanese service. Public space is almost non-existent. No place to sit/wait in the lobby.... more

We just got back from Taipei 3 days ago. After some hotel surveying, we chose to stay in Hotel Royal Taipei. This is one perfect gem right in the centre of Taipei city.
