My wife and I made the adventurous decision to head to Thailand for our honeymoon (from Philadelphia, PA, USA) and we were determined to choose our own hotels strictly from review and ratings available on TripAdvisor (with some regard to price, of course). Bangkok was our first stop and we chose Ariyasomvilla because it was affordable and the reviews on... More

We stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon. Good choice! The hotel upgraded our room because we were on honeymoon. Our room/suite was incredible! I've never had two tvs in a hotel room before. It was class. Upgrade aside, this hotel was amazing! Beautiful spot with a lot of character. The staff were among the friendliest we... More

We stayed at this hotel based on the previous reviews and they were not wrong. At times you forget that you are in the busy city of Bangkok as within 5 minutes walk you are back to the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself is stunning and feels very intimate. On arrival we were very warmly greeted by the staff... More

Stayed for two nights & very disappointed. Rooms were large but old; swimming pool was small & water not clean; Restaurant was very limited if not vegetarian; Location poor, right at the end of a soi with no taxis etc; & the hotel was not cheap. Would i go back? Definitely not

Dear Jarsagar, Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. Actually, I’m just sorry that you didn’t appreciate the hotel . We designed the rooms so that they would match those in the old house – real teak wood floors using old recycled timber, antique Burmese desks, old timber for the wardrobes. So our conscious effort was to... More

Dear Jessica, Thank you for you’re review. Whereas, I am glad you liked the hotel I’m sorry that we didn’t take good enough care of you. We’ve talked over the situation with the senior staff and suggested how to improve certain aspects of our service. Please don’t read too much into the staff pulling a funny face when you ordered... My husband & I stayed here for 2wks in April and were truly awed by the level of service. I design hotel interiors in Las Vegas for a living and it takes A LOT to wow me but I can truly say Ariyasomvilla Hotel and staff went beyond what I would expect. This little boutique hotel in the Sukhumvit area... More

A trip to the exotic far east! When you arrive in the courtyard of this quaint quiet oasis of a hotel, expanded around a 1940s Thai villa, you know you have started on an adventure. Even mine host falls into the stuff of fiction, an escapee more than 20 years ago from colder English climes. The property is intriguing, you... More

David Lees knows how to offer hospitality. Stay here. The layout and architecture of these converted houses are exemplary. You have a variety of rooms, indoor/outdoor restaurant, indoor/outdoor spa, pool/jacuzzi. A quiet corner. Sure, some water taxi sounds rise up but they're not obnoxious. The location is ideal, and just off the main drag with all the glitzy name hotels,... More
