The hotel is in a good location for shops etc, but with the cheap taxis and easy Skytrain and underground (MRT) you can stay in most hotels (a lot of which are better than the Dusit Thani) in Bangkok and get around easily. Service, food, location, cleanliness all top notch! My only observations for improvement are the room lacked a full length mirror and the shower head was positioned at waist height instead of above head height! Lumpini park is situated opposite the hotel which is refreshing break from the hustle & bustle of the city. Patong is a 5 minute walk away. more

A week here over Christmas was heavenly. The hotel is excellent and with 8 restaurants you don't even have to brave the traffic to venture out at dinnertime - the one draw-back is that it is located a little far from the action.
