Nice hotel, lovely service by doormen and concierge.....rooms average but clean. Excellent security for locking up valuables and money and after hours access to safe. Great location.....nearby restaurants, cafes and markets. more

Just spent an excellent week at the Montien Hotel. The hotel is a real oasis in amongst the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Very well located on the edge of Patpong (night market etc). Good facilities, spacious rooms (at least ours was) and friendly accommodating staff. Very clean room and nice pool. Not sure about some of the previous criticisms... more

I only had a short time in Bangkok - 1 night and really had no complaints about my stay here. I stayed here in the mistaken belief that it would be good value. Its not. It is old, outdated and is severey overstaffed. The aircon in the lobby smells of mould and something wet, the rooms are so old that they have a real key and you get a carbon slip with your signature that you have to hand over... more
