Shangri-La Bangkok is one of the finest big hotels you can find on this planet. The best experience is the staff- extremely friendly and helpful- you feel pampered all the time. Organization and training of staff are top-notch otherwise in a hotel of this size would be impossible to guarantee the very high standard. Location is excellent- the skytrain nearby... more

My wife and I stayed at the Krunthep Wing for 4 nights and were looked after very well by the Guest relations manager Ninnet, Concierges Nattakorn, Chalotorn, and receptionists Woraporn and Susarrada. They were very efficient and hardworking and always anxious to help. The butlers were excellent. The K wing is extremely convenient for the Skytrain and the rooms although... more

My husband and I stayed at 5 top rated hotels during our recent 24 day holiday and the Shangri La held its own against the Hong Kong Intercontinental, the Singapore InterContinental, the Hilton Beijing and the Opposite House in Beijing. It was very different from the other hotels but it was superior to the other hotels in the included breakfast... more

This hotel is dated to to point of being dirty and tacky. There is a renovation in progress which just makes it a noisy mess. The architecture is not interesting and they should have just built a new hotel. Bangkok has so many other options - there is no point wasting money at this hotel. This is not a luxury... more

Construction noise. Jackhammers could be heard from other rooms. Pool is unsafe, I have seen a person falling when trying to get out. Food quality went down as prices were increased. more

We stayed at the Kronthip Wing. The room was comfortable, with a view of the river, but perhaps a tad too close to the highway. Nice to have a butler service, and our butler made sure that there were cookies and fruit in the room. Nice!Extra perks like High Tea and Happy Hour were great. The staff were friendly, and... more

A very usy but efficient hotel. Not great but very acceptable. Great staff and selection of restaurants. Easy to get on the river and onto the skytrain for moving around Bangkok. more

We chose to stay in the Kronthep Wing, because it appeared from the web site to be superior to the executive Horizon Club, and this was substantiated by the price. The Krunthep Wing has been poorly maintained for a number of years, and the staff are not proud to be working there. The service level is very poor with staff... more

We wanted to give the ShangriLa Hotel another chance after 3 stays at the Peninsula. We stayed in the Krungthep Wing which gives one some extra perks such as breakfast, daily soft drinks and afternoon tea. The room is as it was 10years ago but with the addition of a floor butler. Lots of in room toiletries - L'Occitane were... more
