The Atlanta is not much to look at from the outside, in fact it looks like a poorly-kept housing commission complex but don't let this put you off. Once inside , you feel a part of a late 40s, Hollywood film set. You half expect to see a glamourous couple descend the curving, staircase dressed for a formal dinner. The... more

REVIEWER PERSPECTIVE * Mid-40’s single male traveler from the U.S.A. doing a 4 month world trip. *Focus has been on staying in budget accommodations. A good budget hotel/hostel for my standards is: secure, clean, comfortable, quiet at night, with reasonable access to the location I am visiting. I don’t mind staying in (or walking through) a working class neighborhood so... more

Location is reasonably close to sky train but down a fairly long dodgy side road, rooms were fairly clean but very very basic, pool huge and deep but very run down with lots of tiles missing. Prob would not stay here again food at the resturant was good and ok prices, service was very sour more

The Atlanta hotel has fantastic staff who are really helpful and is great value for money, given the location. The thai food was excellent and cheap, whilst some of the Western food could be a bit better. Coffee was excellent, which is rare in Thailand. The children's pool is no longer in use, which was disappointing. The adult pool was... more

Great biazza hotel. Loved the stay here as it is like you've just stepped into a detective programme from the 50s. Very cheap and our air con room was fine with hot water. Lots of interesting things and advise in the lobby, such as places to visit (the tallest building in Bangkok was fab, as recommended in a book there).... more

I have been to Thailand many times and in Bangkok 6 times since 1994. This time I decided to try the Atlanta Hotel and discovered that it's not worthing. What I liked is the general atmosphere, the restaurant (which provides delicious thai food) and the lobby with its old charm; BUT the rest of the place shows its age and... more

I would easily recommend the Atlanta hotel to anyone visiting Thailand. The building itself has so much art deco character that has been preserved. The staff are friendly. The food at the in-house restaurant is delcious and inexpensive. Hotel rates are reasonable. The Atlanta has a wonderful location - near a Sky train stop and in a safe neighborhood. I... more

We stayed two nights at the Atlanta and enjoyed our stay. It was nice knowing that they don't allow sex tourists at their hotel and that we wouldn't have to deal with the type of people that pursue such illegal activity, especially considering that the area is a bit seedy. They have a huge sign out front that says, "Sex... more

We arrived in Bangkok on Christmas day morning, and got a taxi to the Atlanta. What a quirky, fun, beautiful hotel. There is certainly a theme running through the lobby and dining room, that the hotel is very much still part of Bangkok 1950's! We loved it, the room we booked was on the A floor, the most expensive level,... more

The Atlanta has certainly seen better days and the rooms could do with some work, but it's still worth staying for the fantastic Shining-esque lobby and quirky atmosphere. The area's a bit sleazy, the staff are considerably less attentive than most Thais, but it's very cheap and much more of an experience than staying at some overpriced generic chain. If... more
