Booked the Golden Horse based on the photos online - what a mistake! The hotel is really adequate considering the price, but nothing like the pictures we saw. The rooms have not been updated since the 70s - prepare for old orange/brown linoleum - and unfortunately, the bed linens may not have been changed since then either. On the up side, the staff was very friendly and accomodating when we decided to cut short our stay.

If you really have to save money, it might work for you, but I'd opt for a guesthouse instead. At least then you'd have some charm!
