There is a different quality to the 13 Coins, but previous reviews calling it weird have missed its essence. It certanly is a funky place, from the odd shaped pool, to the mozzi covered pond, the nightly entertainment and garden, the outdoor "fitness centre" the old vehicles used to ferry guests around the grounds and the simple but funtional rooms.... more

This hotel suited our purpose 100% somewhere cheap to crash that had a pool after a long flight close to the airport ideal if you are like us just staying in Bangkok a day or 2 before flying down south or elsewhere. Found this hotel and its staff very friendly and the service good. The owner went out of his way to make us comfortable. 13 Coins Hotel is not so so so fancy but the staff was friendly. The owner was very helpful and tried himself to accommodate his guests by his hospitality... offering some free drinks to his customers. Nevertheless, i never counted what this hotel lacks. Our travel agent booked this place for us in order to stay somewhere "near" the airport as we were only in Bangkok for 1 and a bit nights on our way thru to Europe.
