We stayed at the Grand Watergate Hotel in Bangkok on one of our most recent holidays in South East Asia. For us, no trip to this region is complete without a stopover in Bangkok as we are simply in love with the city! We (my wife Dina, son Yash and myself) besides being shopoholics, are marathoners too and had decided... more

Aside from the location which is far from the main road, it is the nicest place to stay especially with low-budget travelers. However, the main road is just walking distance too. The rooms are so clean and with everything in it. They have a lot of cabinets where you can put all your luggage and they have a complimentary bottled... more

Stayed at Grand Watergate during the period of 11th to 15th July. Paid roughly S$37 per night. As it is a relatively new hotel, taxi drivers tend to get it mixed up with Amari Watergate Hotel (the bigger and more expensive hotel). After remembering which lanes to make the turns in from the main road, we are able to guide... more

Taxis have difficulty finding it, but it is worth the hunt. The Skytrain station is further than I expected, but walkable. And you'll be wanting it regularly to get around town. The rooms were newish, though with tired linen and towels. There was a minibar, which was great and the aircon worked well. The main problem with our stay was... more

Paid 999 baht per night per room ($30 USD plus 17% tax). Arrived @ midnight to two clean rooms centrally located in the shopping area. Rooms are basic . Location is in an alley type area, but we didn't feel in danger. Kids loved the Burger King the first night @ midnight. more

This hotel is great for the price. I thought it was clean and the staff friendly. When I arrived it was late and I wanted to walk to the 7-11 but was a bit afraid. The neighborhood is not scary so please do not get the wrong idea. I was just nervous because I did not know the area at... more

We stayed 4 nights at the Grand Watergate in Pratunam. It was slightly further, about 15 mins walk from the nearest BTS station, than Samran Place where we stayed during an earlier visit, but Grand Watergate is much much newer (just over a year old) and we didn’t mind the walking, and whenever we were too tired or lazy to... more
