We spent three nights in this guesthouse and our overall experience is almost perfect. The only issue was the noise from the dog in the morning (i've seen this issue is about to be solved in another review). The room are really nice, clean and well furnished. The service is really excellent, and all the people are trying their best... more

We originally booked 7 nights at The Castle and were really looking forward to it. We have spent over 100 Hotel nights in various parts of Thailand this year and as this was our 3rd visit to Chiang Mai we were looking for something a little different with personal service. In this respect The Castle is excellent, email bookings and... more

Dear Mr. Hayward Firstly, thank you very much for your taking the time to write a review for The Castle. Secondly, I am truly sorry that your stay with us was not as good you expected. And I am even more sorry that there was nothing much that I can do to solve the problem at that time - especially...

This hotel is just fine if you are looking for a clean place where you can stay while in Chiang Mai. I wouldn't recommend it for a couple, it is a bit too isolated for my taste, at the end of a dark road off the walls of the old Chiang Mai. Overall I think it is ideal for a... more

The castle's location is close to the Chiang Mai gate and approximately 15/20 min walk to the night bazar. The area around the hotel at night looks very dark, but no issues, anyway use common sense. Rooms are nicely appointed, there is air conditioning, fridge and tv. We were a party of 4 so we had two adjoining rooms. There... more

We absolutely adored The Castle. Initially booked for four nights we extended our stay to seven with a two day road trip in between which the staff from The Castle helped us to plan. The location was perfect because we got exposure to more of the everyday life of the Chiang Mai locals than would have if based in the... more

My friend and I stayed for over two weeks at the Castle. We had a wonderful time there thanks to Pearl, her family and the staff that made our stay a fabulous one! When we needed help finding reputable businesses, Pearl made sure we had the best deals, and fun. I needed to be on a special diet. They accommodated... more
