nice place to stay...good deal on breakfast by buying prepaid coupon. everything one needs is there in the room otherwise the hotel furnishing is in average state, needs to be refurbished... bit away location but value for money...helpful staff. more

We are pleased to hear that you appreciated the friendliness of our staff as well as the room. We will certainly share your comment with our team. In addition, the hotel is now processing in room refurbishment which is expected to be finished soon. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future to Mercure Chiang Mai.

Stayed at the Novotel for a few days for my brothers wedding and also organised my parents a room. The price was very reasonable. The location is a bit outside the centre but there was ever present Tuk Tuk's for that. Staff were very friendly and smiley. The rooms do look a bit tired but had everything you would expect... more

I stayed at the Novotel, Chiang Mai from 3rd to 8th May 2008 along with a colleague, attending a short conference held in the hotel. We are well versed with Thailand and have stayed in backpacker hostels and top hotels. On arrival staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean but looking a bit tired. There were not many... more

We stayed here in late Feb for a few nights before and after we visited an Elephant Camp. The staff were always very helpful including leaving our baggage when we went to the Elephants and also returning the certificates from the camp we accidentally left at the Hotel when we departed back home to Aust. I think people must remember... more

The hotel is nice but the rooms have old carpets and need a good refresh ! The hotel is a little bit far from the city center (but easy to go by tuk tuk or even walking). At US$ 25 a night, it is a great deal but the hotel was fairly empty. This hotel did not meet the Novotel... more

I nearly stayed here but my friend who lives near Chiang Mai saved me and said don't do it. Boy was I lucky. Please read the recent reviews as they are accurate in many respects. All I can comment on is the lobby, general ambience and the location as I did not stay overnight but I did go and have... more

Fantastic hotel, everything about it was great. The location was good, near a fabulous little supermarket, down a nice side-street. Quite a way to the Night Bazaar, but plenty of tuk-tuks around to take you there. more

Just arrived in Chiang Mai yesterday afternoon. 120 Baht flat rate (no meter) from airport to Novotel (150 Baht for minivan). Check-in took mysteriously long time, though, not too bad. Assigned room 326. Entire 3rd floor stank of old carpet and stale cigarette smoke. Room was big with the largest bed I have ever seen in my life (mattress is... more
