The rooms have dated furnishings but the rooms are large and clean. We found the cleaners very noisy in the morning - they seemed to have a room opposite ours where they meet up at 7 am and had their morning gossip!! It isn’t central to the night market area but it is easy to get tuk tuks from the... more

This hotel was a pretty big disappointment. It looks nothing like the pictures on the Novotel website. And there's NO SPA. The hotel is run down and old. It needs a major overhaul. Our room was in pretty bad condition with no safe, old style furnishings, no view. Breakfast was standard Asian buffet, not the best but ok. Most importantly,... more

For those attracted to this hotel by the Novotel name, be prepared: this is the Novotel that time forgot. I don't think this hotel has been redecorated in 40 years. Still, the lapses in décor are forgivable, and this hotel has a nice pool and polite staff. There is a Western supermarket next door which is useful for picking up... more

we booked the novotel in chiang mai for one night. we reserved the hotel's least expensive room. first off, the hotel had fantastic service, the room was large and was extremely clean. the only knock is that it is very outdated. the furniture is something from 1960's. this is a fine place if you're looking for cheap and clean without... more

The hotel is decent, but its a good 10 min. drive to town which is not how it advertises itself. The hotel is clean and up to the standard of Novotel but again, not convenient to town. Also DO NOT use the hotel tour operator. They basically told us a price and what it entails, but then changed the itinerary... more

Good- Next to a supermarket, beauty salon and optician nearby Bad - a little outside of the city, old. Not up to Novotel standards that we've stayed in the past. The room we stayed in was big with a very large but hard bed. Needed alot of updating. Olive green worn carpet and very old fixtures like from the 70's.... more

Prices are very cheap in comparison to the inner city hotels/resorts. Stayed for 7 nights, the room was spacious, clean & tidy, with an enormous bed. The aircon was efficient and the room was cleaned to a high standard. The bathroom could do with an update and they need a decent 'Tiler' as whoever did the tiles must have been... more

We stayed at the Novotel with our three children (ages 2, 6 & 8) and were very happy. This is a standard Novotel hotel meeting standard Novotel standards - at an excellent price. We were able to have 2 connecting rooms. The rooms were clean and functional, although the decor was somewhat dated. (At least we didn't worry about the... more

Yes, it is a big hotel and yes, it is located slightly outside the city centre, but it has really fantastic, modern, clean rooms and common areas, helpful staff, a decent size pool and an in-room massage service (and a very convenient shuttle servie to the night market!). Our room was only US$20 per night. - an absolute steal!!! more

My partner and myself stayed here for 3 nights in April 2007. This Hotel was comfortable and great value for the price. Breakfast was included in the room and this was always fresh and had lots of choice. It was a little far away from the main part of town but theres always lots of Taxis driving round picking people... more
