We only stayed here because our son was here for a conference but fi you don't have to be in the nigth market district you can't find a better value. Dated but clean. We didn't use any of the facilities but the looked ok. The location wasn't that great but there are shops and a couple of restaurants/bars a few minutes walk away. As a traveler looking to save some dough, the Chiangmai YMCA worked out great for me. At 500 baht a night (for a single, I believe 600 for a two person double) the room was very basic, but offered a very good selection of television channels, a curtained shower, a comfortable bed and air conditioning...all luxuries I have not received... more

Location is OK, room a bit basic, the best thing was the choice of TV channels - the only place we could get English TV. Nice shop with handicrafts. If you're looking for a clean, quiet place to stay in Chiang Mai that is very inexpensive, the YMCA is the right place.
