I was only in Chiang Mai for a couple of nights. I had originally booked 3 nights, and was not able to get there for the first night of my booking. When i did get in, this was no problem for the front desk. They told me that they only had a twin room with 2 single beds, which i... More

We stayed here in July opting to have the club rooms. Im glad we did because they seemed a little nicer and larger than the others. Its a fairly old hotel by the looks ( i cant recall the last time we stayed in a hotel that still uses door keys!), but certainly popular. Our rooms were always cleaned well... More

We stayed three nights a few weeks ago. The hotel was very busy but understandable given it was Chinese New Year. The rooms were a good size and well equipped. Pool looked really good - shame we didn't have time to use it, and the breakfast buffet had plenty on offer. The best thing about the Duangtawan is the location... More

Great hotel right in the heart of Chiangmai, only 2minutes walk from the famous night market. Room was very clean with a very large bed, good bathroom with bath and shower, great if you are like me and enjoy a soak. only slight downside was the signal strength for the wifi in the room. Buffet breakfast was included and you... More

First, this IS a beautiful hotel. While the rooms vary in size (and I'm not sure that depends on price as we were a huge group and all paid the same), ours was huge. My bathroom was huge with a large bathtub and separate shower - the nicest, hands down, I've been in since leaving the States. If you're coming... More

First of all yes, location is great, it is right at the centre and steps to the night bazaar. BUT! and BIG BUT! Myself and my friend who stayed there during a short visit to Chiang Mai, both of us work in the hospitality industry as well, we chose this hotel due to location and price. But we were wrong... This is a HUGE hotel where the breakfast room resembles a train station at peak hour, people everywhere & not the best quality but the location of this hotel if you are a tourist in Chiang Mai is excellent. In addition to this the value for money is pretty good, especially in low season when they discount the rates significantly.... More

We stayed here as part of a package, and couldn't have been happier with the location right on the doorstep of the night market (though not noisy as you might expect). Pool ok, breakfast, rooms, ambience all average - no major complaints but not spectacular either. If you can get a good price and value location highly, then definitely consider... More

We arrived at the hotel and checked in with no issues. We were automatically upgraded to a business class room from deluxe upon check in. Once we arrived in the room we discovered that it smelt like cigarettes. Even as a smoker I found the smell quite disturbing. We were not located on a smoking floor but I am assuming... More
