Chiang Mai Gate hotel is walking distance to the city center and all the stunning Chiang Mai wats, Sunday Market and there is daily free pick-up to Night Bazaar. All in all this was a nice hotel for the money. The major drawback for us was that the pool was so cold. With two kids under 7 the pool was something the whole family was looking forward to. We paid THB1000 per night and were surprised at this hotel! It was fantastic value for money, with very nice rooms, good service, and a nice breakfast. Great location, a 5min walk into town and plenty of good food nearby. It's a 4 star hotel with a hostel price tag. Highly recommended. more

On the positive side the Chiang Mai Gate hotel is well located in a quiet street, easy walking distance to markets and the 'old town' area. We opted for a 'superior room' for a 6 night stay.
