My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Baan Orapin. First of all, the teak buildings are well-maintained and the landscaping of the grounds is absolutely beautiful. Our room (a junior suite) was spacious and clean and our bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast offered was more than adequate and of good quality. Finally, we appreciated staying somewhere... more

Cant really fault this hotel. Hotel is based 10 minutes walk from the Chiang Mai nightly market and 3 minutes from the major bars by the river. Great location. The rooms are superb and very private. 4 poster beds. I would recommend the rooms around the back but the front would be great also but marginally more noisy. I say... more

Baan Orapin is an ideal to place to stay in Chiang Mai if you want to be close enough that you can walk just about anywhere (or take a 30 baht tuktuk), but far enough way that you can avoid the hoards and hassle of the inner city. Situated off a relatively busy two-lane street Baan Orapin is nestled away... more

To start with, I want to say that this is a very charming hotel. We liked the garden, it was very well-maintained. Rooms were big and comfortable and stylishly furnished. Only minus was it's price. We could find the same quality of service elsewhere in Thailand for half the price. more

We stayed here during our Chiang Mai portion of our backpacking honeymoon. I can't say enough wonderful things about this charming place. The minute you are inside the gates you relax. It's beautiful grounds are an oasis in the city. We had the Baan Orapin Suite in the rear wing and what a room! It is beautifully furnished and so... more

Stayed here during the Loy Krathong celebration at the beginning of November with our 18 year-old son and my husband's parents. We had 2 suites and a standard room in the rear wing. The rooms: The suites were spacious, clean, tastefully decorated. King bed (comfortable), sitting area, safe, desk, mosquito net over the bed (never used it), tv (never used... more

We stayed at the Baan Orapin for 4 nights in October. We absolutely loved it. It ouzes tranquility and peace. The breakfasts are wonderful and the rooms delightful, lovely Thai architecture and beautiful gardens. Opas and his staff are gracious and helpful. The bed was very comfortable - basically couldnt fault it. Opas is usually around during breakfast and will... more

I would like to thank Mr Opas and his cousin Pepsi for a wonderful 4 days at the Baan Orapin. The B&B is composed of the old teak house in the centre of the grounds ( Mr Opas' family home in the past), where there is a reception area, internet access and the breakfast room. Next to this is a... more

What a beautiful place to stay. The staff was amazing, the pool was amazing, the rooms were amazing. The breakfast is HUGE and delicious. The rooms are full of beautiful locally handicrafted items. The inn is located right in the arts and crafts district, very close to the river, flower market, and Sunday walking market. The staff called cabs for... more
