This is our third stay here (last time five years ago). Delightful family run place in the grounds of the old family home. All of the rooms we've stayed in were very comfortable. This time we had a deluxe junior suite which had a separate shower & bath, a large seating area overlooking the pool area, and a comfortable four poster... More

I recently stayed here solo for 4 nights, and once again, Tripadvisor pointed me in the right direction. From start to finish, it all went smoothly. They are very prompt in returning emails and detailed. Everything everyone says about the peaceful, tropical grounds is correct, and the property is even prettier in person. The fresh made breakfast is divine by... More

A good place to stay in Chiangmai Mai and helpful service. The manager had been very helpful in advance booking a cook school for us, and was also great when our cycling tour didn't show up. My only slight irritation was finding out that many of the breakfast options need specified the day before. Fair enough for the freshness of... More

We arrived late and found the staff were waiting for us. They helped settle us into a lovely traditional style room. We felt very welcome. The rooms are large with an adjoining sitting area, balcony, fridge, coffe pot and air con in each room. The rooms are very quiet placed at the back of a very large garden. Breakfast was... More

It really is like time slows down or you've stepped back years when you walk through the gates. The noise fades, suddenly you are surrounded by a lush peaceful garden, walking on old planks in the rooms. This does not feel like a hotel, it feels like an ancient welcoming guest house. It is hard to explain, I suggest you... More

Baan Orapin is indeed an oasis in Chiang Mai. We were greeted by Pepsi who is charming and so willing to help with any small detail .In fact we noticed that all the staff were quick to offer assistance carrying luggage etc. Our rooms were in the front wing, nicely decorated in local style and were relatively quiet. The room... More

We travel Asia a fair bit and this little place has just shot to the Number 1 hotel for us !!! We totally loved this place, we had a beautiful room in the front of the compound, we did not have any trouble with noise, we also thought it might be located to far away from the Night Bazzar etc... It has been said by many - quiet green oasis on the edge of the city, rooms are comfortable clean and beautifully decorated. This place was perfect for our family holiday with the kids sleeping in an adjacent room. Felt more like a home than a hotel as the staff are available, but rarely seen. The breakfast is a highlight... More

We booked Baan Orapin based on high rating on trip advisor. We couldn't have made better choice. 10 min walk from the city centre (night market), it is a special place, with great atmosphere, rating on trip advisor well deserved.

We had a teak room upstairs at the front of the property. Beautiful room, very clean, nicely decorated. We didn't hear any street noise. Lots of windows for natural light and looking out at the electrical storm one night. Bed was comfortable. Fantastic shower- really hot water with great water pressure. Soaps were handmade and shampoo, etc also supplied. Big,... More
