Simple, on the best beach, easy chilled atmosphere - GREAT swimming, and the little beach cafes and the yachy club serve cheap and easy and very tasty meals and drinks for morning noon and night. We (two mums and 5 young children) have just returned from 7 nights stay here and can recommend it hugely for young children. The beach is small but beautiful with lots of rocks and crawly things to explore and 4 relaxed beach cafes which had all we needed - and we found cheaper than those in the 'towns'. I found this place the most friendly staffs and good location in Lamai beach. I stayed 4 nights there definitely want to go back again. If you have breakfast watch out for the thieving myna birds :) I recommend this hotel is the nicest coolest place in Samui. more

Thongtakian Resort is located on Thongtakian beach (the local name) also know as Silver beach. Just nestled between Chaweng and Lamai beach. Most people just pass by the road without knowing there's a very nice beach here. The sand is very white and the water is nearly crystal blue clear. If you want a nightlife, it's just 5-10 mins away... more

We stayed at the Thongtakian Resort for a week in March 09. Very friendly staff and the accomodations are pretty good by Thai standards. The beach at this resort is less than a kilometer long (shared with several other resorts) and is set into a cove or bay. The sand was excelent and the shallow waters make for good swimming.... more

We booked our stay at the Thongtakian through a simple phone call with the owner who didn't require anything more than "we'll be there on Thursday, save us a room". Upon arrival even though we got there at 7 in the morning we were shown straight to our accomodation with the minimum of fuss. All the staff on the resort... more

My family stayed at Thongtakian at the start of our 2 week vacation in Thailand. I have been to Ko Samui before (I stayed on Lamai Beach, just south of this place), and can say that I loved this beach! The sand is fine and soft (Lamai is full of shells).
