We went to the Spa for a detox. I won't go into much detail, however we stopped after two days. It really wasn't something we enjoyed. The good: - Location is 15 minutes walk from Lamai and the exquisite silvers beach. There is not much where the spa is, but it is in between two places you want to go.... more

Lets get down to it - I returned after 6 years to do a fast - lose some weight and cleanse! Accommodation is cheap <USD40/night but if you are not fasting, it would not be my choice. The beach has been degraded mainly because local fisherman installed a breakwater that broke coral, affected sand replenishment and stuffed the beach generally.... more

Every summer the past 6 years I spend 10 days at Spa Samui village. As a certified naturopath I think the fasting programme they offer is very good and affordable. The accomodation is budget but fine and the location excellent for a fast. A good place for a retreat, "clean me out programme", and massage. more

Thailand's tourist industry has taken a real beating this season, due to the airport fiasco and the economic collapse that has prevented many people from travelling. The streets of Chaweng and Lamai are certainly less crowded than they have been in a long time... In order to recoup some of the lost revenue, The Spa Samui, or as it is... more

We had a really nice experience at the Spa Samui Resorts. We stayed at the Spa Village which is upcountry from the original Spa Samui Beach where they also have updated rooms and bungalows. The Spa Village rooms are larger, well appointed and have a serene and expansive view; you get a nice feel for the Thai Gulf Islands up... more

Impossible to recommend this health retreat. The only good thing is that the setting and gardens are pretty. Most people go there to fast and the program appears good, but you're pretty much left on your own. I was lucky to be there at a time with some lively fellow fasters which improved the atmosphere considerably. The rooms are VERY... more

I checked in for the minimum 4 nights. Thank god they let me leave after 2 without having to pay for all 4! The Spa Village, is not just a short trek up the hill as it appears on their site. It was miles away from anything, which is okay if you think you'll get peace, tranquility and great views.... more

I booked through spasamui.com Peak Season, January 2008 I stayed 4 days and checked out. Many changes in Lamai! *Lamai Beach is an eye sore. Badly polluted and many coconut trees have been cut away! All the prices in Lamai have jumped. Including the Song Tao's and Taxi's. Spa Beach (aka: The Spa Resort) is right on Lamai Beach. Fasting... more

The very minute I walked through the entrance into the Spa Beach resort, I got a whiff of the days to come! I became increasingly nauseous with every day of the fast, this was because of the disgusting smell coming from the septic tank, which by the way, is situated under the herbal steam room and why the smell in... more
