The Wave Samui is a hostel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The two owners are English (I suppose) and the rest of the personnel is Thai and they were all really nice to me and my 3 friends when we were their guests. The double-beds in the hostel rooms we had were unfortunately not really comfortable but okay... More

We stayed for 5 nights in january and were really excited about visiting koh samui! The wave was our choice and we were pretty dissapointed with what we got! Downstairs felt very unfriendly and the check in was confusing and not very well explained! We got in the room and it was not clean! It was also not cleaned during... More

I normally don't write reviews but due to the awesomeness of The Wave I just had to.... The room was spacious, clean and basic which is what we expected as it was one of the cheapest places we found to stay for three of us with an en suite. The staff were amazing and couldn't have been more helpful, friendly... More

My boyfriend and I made our way The Wave Samui for 4 nights following the Lonely Planet guide as it was recommended by them. As we were travelling all over the country, we needed somewhere that didn't break the balance and was safe for all our belongings. When we arrived in the library/restaurant instantly gave us a sense of comfort.... More

Cost 500 baht for twin room with fan. Good atmosphere and location (bit noisy at night, to be expected). Sheets in room not changed in 3 days, communal bathroom not cleaned and bin with dirtied tissues not emptied (weren't allowed to flush). The shower was very poor. Foodin restaurant overpriced for what it was in my opinion. One additional plug... More

We stayed here for 7 nights. The double rooms were booked out so we were offered the roof terrace suite at a discounted price. Unfortunately, the rooftop terrace looks very different from what can be seen in the photos on tripadvisor, it is nowhere near as nice as it appears in the photos. This was a very spacious room with... More

We returned here again for what I believe is the sixth time, maybe more I'm not sure, and it was great to see so many smiling faces from the staff and owners... We stayed for three nights and was glad to see that things were still as great as ever with the exception of the food which had somehow managed... More

The Wave staff were so friendly and helpful, always there with the things we needed - after our scooter accident they provided ice, and when I left my business suit in Koh Samui they ferried it to Koh Tao for me! Although it is a bit of a walk from the nightlife, the walk down the beach is gorgeous and... More

A cheap option for samui but would not recommend it to any backpackers looking for a good time. 10-15 min walk from all the action and the owner does everything he can to make you feel uncomfortable. He is aggressive and threatening. If you want to go out and party at night, do not stay here. After coming back and... More
