Montien is not a new hotel, but is extremely well maintained. Its very conveniently located on Pattaya Beach Road, has friendly staff, and is tremendous value for money (at USD 80, its a bargain). The moment we walked through the door we were not happy. The room stank of cigarette smoke, stale and uninviting. We were stuck here for eight nights and every night the noise from surrounding hotels was annoying and kept you awake especially from the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel beside the Montien. We walked into the Montien Hotel and loved the garden. We booked the room at the reception that night. It was about 3800 baht including breakfast. It's right next the Hard Rock hotel and you can hear the DJ at the pool at about 10:30am. I think from whatever room you are in you will hear the music from there.... more

Stayed here for a long weekend each February for the last three years but I’m unlikely to return. This hotel is in serious need of a major overhaul - Bathrooms are very old and basically not clean anymore. This was our second stay at the Montien.. we went in 2005 as well, and what was really nice was they remembered us. We arrived at 2.30 AM and were checked in within 30 minutes..
