We found it hard to find a cheap option in Hanoi ahead of time but once we got into the city and wondered around the old quarter we found the brilliant Queen Palace. Only $12 for a double room, wifi, AC, private bathroom and balcony, very clean and comfortable. Best value we found in the city.
