There's only one word I can use to describe this hotel, FANTASTIC! I have stayed at many 5 star hotels in the pass and this is for sure one of the best, if not the best! the rooms were beautiful and the service was simply wonderful. the bell boy even haggle with the taxi driver for me to the airport!... more

My husband and I really enjoyed staying at the Metropole Hotel! One of our top 3 hotels we have ever stayed in. The drinks were great, the pool was relaxing, and the poolside foot message was perfection! We stayed in the newer Opera Wing-- very modern and comfortable. The large tub was great for a long soak after exploring Hanoi.... more

We´ve stayed in many top class hotels but the sofitel metropole beats them all. We stayed at the club rooms (opera wing) and service is perfect. We never felt more welcome and like to thank 2 `butlers` in particular : Nguyen Phuc Hung and Nguyen Xuan Duong. They always seemed to be there when we needed them. A big compliment... more

This hotel is one of the finest I've ever stayed in, not only because the beds were divine, but because the friendly people will do anything to help. If you can afford it, or just want to splash out, then stay here! more

Of all the hotels we stayed in on our two week tour of Cambodia and Vietnam, this was our least favourite. Its certainly a stylish operation and set in a beautiful and historic building. Rooms (in the Opera Wing) were well equipped - if a bit on the small side. The beds were extra comfy and the bowl of fruit... more

My sister is currently living in Hanoi, so my wife and I went here for the Sunday lunch buffet with my sis and a friend while we were over visiting back in March 08. Can't say anything about the hotel as a place to stay, other than it looks great, but the food, esp the seafood, was awesome and we... more

Choice of restaurants, bars in the hotel is top class. I was on the club level in the Opera wing..the upgrade seems a bit high in costs but thats only till you see... more

Beautiful hotel with everything you expect from a 5-star hotel. A decent size flat screen TV and dvd player would make staying in the rather small room on a rainy day enjoyable. We loved the silk kimono provided. They were SO comfy! As expected, they had great customer service and located very close to Hoan Kiem Lake which makes it... more

We tried to book to stay here while we were in Hanoi but the reception service was so rude and so unhelpful that we ended up telling them to forget it. The standard of English was very poor, they were very unclear about the pricing structure and kept changing the price, and couldn't even bring themselves to be polite. It... more
