We just completed a 10 day stay at the hotel with our 2 young children. We had a faultless stay and were nothing short of delighted with our expereince. The two bedroom apartment catered perfectly for our family, having a seperate living area where the kids could watch tv/DVD's, and a washer/dryer in the apartment worked well. The playroom on... more

Stayed here for 3 nights with our 3 young children. Room was set up when we arrived including the crib. Plenty of space to move around. Room was clean but very dated / tired, and not updated in quite a number of years. But with 3 children, a 2-bedroom apartment is great bonus. Full kitchen + washing machine available. The... more

I stayed at the Somerset Grand for almost 4 weeks and it was quite comfortable. Pros: outstanding service, superfast room service, very nice staff, great gym w/ sauna, olympic size gorgeous outdoor pool, a cute trainer, cable tv, wireless internet, nice breakfast (choice of Vietnamese main dish or Western dish + a lot of other 'stuff') and again, a very... more

Predictable and reliable quality. Room was in reasonably good condition with the exception of the in-room safe which did not work. Lots of space and good location. more

Stayed at the Somerset Grand Hanoi for 5 days. It is just next to the Hanoi tower and in a very central location. The Somerset is just around the former prison built by the French and known as the "Hilton Hanoi" where Senator John McCain was held captive. We had booked a 3 bedroom with an en-suite master bedroom, one... more

We stayed at the Somerset in April, 2008 and had two major issues. One is that they incorrectly charged me a cancellation fee for a reservation that was never made. I had to fight it via American Express for six months to get my money back. Secondly, we did our laundry in our room and it ruined all of our... more

Stayed here for three and a half weeks in March April in a two bedroomed suite. All mod cons including two full bathrooms and a full kitchen. Staff were excellent and very helpful in every way. Hotel has a lovely restaurant which also deliver to the room at no additional cost and there is an extensive order-in menu from a... more

We stayed in the Somerset Grand in May-June 2008. We had a 2 bed apartment on the 22nd floor. Everything was just spectacular, 6 couples travelled together and stayed here and all agreed they could not fault this property on any aspect. If you have ever heard of "Your wish is my command" this is what it felt like. Reception... more

We stayed here with 3 adults, a 4-year-old, and a baby in a 2-bedroom apartment. It was perfect for us! The apartment had 2 bedrooms (one with a king? bed and one with 2 twins), 2 bathrooms (one with a tub and the other with a shower), a living room (couch and chair), an eating area, and a separate kitchen.... more

We also stayed here in March, and I can understand where the previous reviewer is coming from. However, when you are traveling with small kids - aged 9 and 6 - it is very handy. It's quite hard to get connecting rooms in Vietnam and an apartment gives a lot more space. It was a bit expensive, but not as... more
