Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good budget hotel for a short stay, though the hotel staff couldn't really speak English well except for the receptionist. Room was adequate for the price we paid, though the basin was spoilt and water couldn't be drained. The bathroom was ok, but the walls had molds. Still a good deal for the price, though, if you're not too particular and just needed a place for the luggage.

The staff here really exemplified hospitality - they bumped us up to the Junior Suite (since they figured that we were on our honeymoon), were very helpful and informative about local sights, and even arranged the hotel’s private taxi service for us at a rate to match the local Uber. Our room was quite clean and spacious. Although I had some initial misgivings about it from the old-timey design of the bathroom, we had a very comfortable stay. We had made Hanoi our base for trips to Sapa and Halong Bay, and we were able to avail of their luggage storage facility during that time. The hotel is centrally located, about 600m from the Hoàn Kiếm Lake and 1 km from the railway station, and lots of shopping and cafes nearby. Another standout was their breakfast. Its not a full buffet, but its brought to you table really quickly and piping hot. Their crepes and pancakes were especially delicious, and, of course, the unforgettable Vietnamese coffee.

The receptionist are amazing. We arrived with a warm welcome and they where generally interested in us having a great stay. Honestly they are amazing at their jobs firstly they told us where to go for the day and the good spots to go. I had booked a tour with a different company but I mixed up the dates and instead of them saying sorry it's out of their hands, they went out of there way to help us talk to the tour company and change the date. I'm so grateful for all the ladies help. The hotel is very flash looking and was better then I expected. The only thing it needs work on is the shower, no shower curtain and is very weak, but that's just me being picky. We had a room at the back of the hotel it was completely sound prof, which is great because of the constant traffic. This hotel is in the best location, close to everything and the tours they offer are cheaper then to do it yourself.

shocking experience in this hotel! where do i start, upon arrival they didn't have any record of our booking and didn't make us feel welcome at all. the negatives are too much to write but here is a small summary: - hotel being renovated on the second floor where our room was located. our room clearly wasn't finished, we were just dumped in there. stank of paint, bath still had all the plastic seal on, bath tub leaked, no hot water, full of mosquitos. - we were told our bags would be sent up to our room whilst we popped out for food and a wander. 3 hours later our bags STILL sat in reception where anyone could have took anything. - asked to change rooms to be told it was fully booked. after no hot water, went back down and requested refund so we could find a new hotel. miraculously a room appeared, and the receptionist told me that the person who booked they will find them a new hotel - not good customer service at all. - Not much variety for breakfast. Juice was warm and waitress not very friendly at all. Kitchen was very dingy and didn't look very hygienic. The general attitude of the staff stank, and such a shame as has the potential to be a nice hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Location is the only good thing about it.

Let's start with the negatives : we booked that hotel because it was rated as a 3.5 stars but in fact, when you come in, there is a plaque saying that it's a 2 stars. It explains why you need to 'start heating' your water 30-40min BEFORE using it. 30-40min is not that bad, if there would be any hot water in the end. But it never happened. Also, the towels were so old that we could see through. The pictures are right about the look of the hotel and the rooms, but I supposed they only upgraded the bathrooms seen on Expedia's photo because ours wasn't (not that it's a major problem, but it adds up to the disappointment). Finally, we took the breakfast for 3$ US/day/person but even though the menu is bilingual, they were either bringing us the wrong dish or they were forgetting something. We had 4 breakfast and it happened every morning. That's without talking about the time it was taking to get our food; you have to count 20min for toast minimum (if they remembered !). But there are still good aspects : The hotel is very well located (not far from the center, from the attractions and there a lot of restaurants around). The room was big and clean and we did not have any undesired insects. It's also very quiet (well isolated from all the noises from the city). You have access to a tv + a safe and a fridge. Internet is also available for free around the hotel. The staff is very polite and helpful and is mostly bilingual (except for the breakfast's staff) Still, we would not stay there again knowing we could get a real 3-4 stars hotel for the same price.

The hotel looks fancy on the outside but the bathroom is quite bad and the tower were old and makes me feel uncomfortable. The room is okay and the bed is really good to take a rest after a long tired day. My room were in 5th floor with a big window so I can feel the fresh air though faced a wall. The breakfast was really bad (they had the same menu for 5 days I stayed there!) and I didn't have much choices (eggs, Pho, that's all). The coffee was awful.. Overall, I don't recommend eating at the restaurant. The staff were really friendly and helpful and this was the best thing above all!

This stay started off with them giving us a room with one king and a cot when we booked a room with two king beds. They knew their mistake but did not say anything till I did. They told us to give a few minutes because they wanted to turn the AC on to make the room cool. When I mentioned this is not what we booked, he said yes we saw you booked a room with two beds so we gave you this king bed and this bed and pointed to the cot. After continuing to tell him that we paid for two kings therefore we should get two kings, he asked if we could manage with this because they were booked. He offered us a discount on airport transfer. We negotiated getting the airport transport for free. That was one issue. The next the quality of the hotel is very confusing. It is as if they spent all their money on decorations but skimped on the necessities. The towels were dingy not white. The sheets on the cot had very large stains. The bathroom was disgusting. There was a hair in the shower before anyone used it. Then if that was not bad enough, the tv did not work. Will not ever stay here again and will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our room actually faced a wall on the 5th floor. This meant it was very quiet and private, even though there was no view it was the perfect place to rest. There was an elevator, the front lobby had an ATM right outside. Very Convenient, safe, and quiet place.

The staff tried hard but just didn't have the knowledge to bring things to fruition. Breakfast was so so. My first room the air con was broken. They did move me. Housekeeping didn't do well at all. They also never came on Sunday. They couldn't get me a cyclo. Just all seemed out of their capabilities even though with a smile. I wouldn't stay again.
