We stayed here just one night and we werent that impressed. the location is excellent and their breakfast and roof terrace very good. We got a room in the old wing and... it was old.... and noisy.... They need to update those room and they are not of a 4 star hotel. we asked for extra pillows we never got... more

We stayed a total of five nights at the Rex over two weeks in October with our 4 year old in a family suite. Our first room was not what we booked so we asked them to change it and received a family room No# 312 in the old wing. The room was spacious and clean with a queen and... more

Dinner on the Rooftop Restaurant at the Rex Hotel overlooking the neon Saigon is a dramatic experience. The service is impeccable as is the preparation and presentation of the food. A very pleasant experience so make this your Ho Chi Minh City splurge. I did not stay in the hotel. more

Recently stayed at the Rex just to share the abience of this historic place. Found the accomodation to be adequate, a little dated but in general ok. Having recently also stayed at the Continental, found the plumbing of teh Rex to be much more recent - maybe less than 20 years old! The staff were also very helpful. The real... more

Now, for many years, I've had a soft spot for the Rex Hotel in Saigon. A decade ago, it was fun to stay there. Yes, the hotel was a bit of a pig, but you paid pig rates. Okay, they were slightly higher than other pig-level hotels, but you did get a few extras. The Rex offered more; it delivered... more

Te REX Hotel in Vietnam is in an excellent location, the "New Wing" rooms are to die for - the decor, roominess, cleanliness, complimentary fruit basket each day, flowers in the rooms, chocolates - buffet breakfast with a fast variety of food. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing too much trouble. The roof top Bar has entertainment... more

First of all, i didn't have a choice in which hotel to stay because it was a business trip with pre-arranged accomodation. Great location but however due to the size of the hotel, it seemed impersonal. The rooms and bathroom looked very dated and you'll have to let the water run for a while because the water that first came... more

We had a lovely room in the new area overlooking the square. Of course everything was new and suited all of our needs. The breakfast room was huge, almost like dining on a cruise ship. The food was excellent and catered for westernern style and all other palates. We enjoyed trying the Vietnamese food and then eating that type of... more

Very average hotel. The large and new entrance foyer is deceptive as the rooms are dated and the hotel smells a bit strange (especially the lifts!) It's good to get a real feel of being in Vietnam and still a nice hotel but not great. I was put in a basically windowless, dark room with a flat roof outside when... more

Most reviewers of the Rex have stayed in the old part of the hotel and have suffered accordingly, as the majority of their reviews reflect. However, thanks to those reviews I opted for the new section and in the main the new rooms are pretty good. Sadly, many of the practical things that you need in a hotel either failed... more
