Be very wary of this hotel which is little more than a glorified knocking shop. We were offered "girls" within minutes of arriving, and were unable to use the hotel's snooker table until a couple had finished what they were doing in the cubicle next door.

Add to this the general noise in the hotel (the night we stayed, there was filming outside until 2.30 am) and if you're looking for a relaxing hotel whilst on holiday, try somewhere else.

Food in the restaurant was also distinctly average and the second night, there was no hot water, apparently due to a problem in the city.

Plus points ? Location on the edge of the old town and 2 minutes from the Caspian Sea is excellent, and the rooms themselves are of a decent standard. more
