Rooms are basic and the low room price is hard to beat anywhere in Phnom Penh. The reception staff were friendly but tip demanding; some staff do not speak English. The downstairs travel desk inside the hotels offers tours but some are only fake as they do not take place. I had to book close to the sea side, where... More

I made a reservation two days prior via the website, friends of mine stayed here and were rather positive. the day before mine arrival date there was a confirmation and an e-mail exchange in regards to the room. When I arrived the place was booked and mine reservation was dismissed and/or lost. No excuses, no help in regards to another... More

Friendly staff, a clean room and cheap. The restaurant is fine for a quick breakfast or a snack while waiting for the coach and while the location is not bang on the tourist trail, it's just a 15 minute walk to the riverside. So long as you don't expect too much, or do much more than sleep there, the Capitol... More

If you want to get Diarrhoea from the restaurant and bed bug bites from the hotel, then stay here. The staff in the restaurant are weird, for want of a better word, they float around like their dosed up and have strange mannerisms whilst you are ordering. The food is bog standard and expensive for what it is. The hotel... More

There is no great ambiance here, but room was clean, I slept well, felt safe, etc. There was nothing wrong with this place, but nothing exciting about it either. To me, this is totally fine because I don't like to pay a lot for a hotel room when i really just want to sleep there and feel safe. We only... More

Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean enough. Only thing that bothered me was that we made a reservation two weeks before we even arrived Phnom Penh and when we got there the room was taken and we got a smaller room. Other than that the place was great. The neighborhood is kinda noisy from 7am to 6pm so... More

If this is your first night in S.E. Asia, it might be a bit of a shock. The sink plumbs directly onto the bathroom floor and there is no shower recess (also onto te floor). But the beds were comfortable and the room is pretty clean. It is not near any tourist attractions, but there is a good resteraunt and... More

Stayed here in September - staff responded to email to confirm the booking, double room, air-con, hot water bathroom, $10. Although the guest house itself is a bit like a rabbit warren, probably fire safety issues (!), the room itself was clean and very large. The staff were also very helpful when booking onward bus tickets, with the Capitol Bus... More

I've stayed at Capitol GH numerous times since 2007, usually for weeks or months at a time. This is a classic no-frills, down-and-dirty backpacker place, richly deserving of the cliche "you get what you pay for." Rooms are basic and the low room price is hard to beat anywhere in Phnom Penh. The reception staff are friendly and helpful, but... More

I first stayed here beeing a backpacker in 1995 and it is still running. Efficient service and basic needs providing at rock bottom price. Staying here won't give you the best reputation as it is (mostly) frequented by guests on a low budget and sex-tourists but if you are not looking for luxury it is a great deal. Belonging to... More
