First stepping into River Star Hotel it appears a bit run down, but don't let this stop you. The rooms are big and comfortable, and the service the staff provides exceeds anything we have ever experienced. (Travels 3 months as a family). Especially one of the hotel assistents makes the difference,mr. Tongchen, he puts together packages for staying in both... more

This hotel is in a good location and was absolutely fine for what we wanted for one night. The room was very large with aircon and ensuite, and whilst the corridors and carpets outside the room were pretty grubby the room itself was fine, not sparkling but the sheets and pillow cases were all clean and a nice comfy bed... more

This hotel is filthy , I had a quick look in the kitchen before being taken to my room , it is a dirty pig sty , I couldn,t imagine what sort of diseases one would get from eating food prepared in there . I had a room overlooking the river , a wonderful view , the room , however... more

I stayed at the river star for 3 days and really enjoyed my stay. Tong was a great in assisting me for various trips and tips! Rooms were clean and took the balcony room that faces the tonlesap river and was fantastic watching the boats go by while having breakfast. If you stay longer that 3 days you may get... more

Watch out for the owner, he is a No 1 crook ! We had a mini bus hired for three days. As we checked-in and while we were upstairs the owner threatened the mini-bus driver (paid him off probably) and told him we did not need any transport. He was told to go away and not come back ! When... more

The location and views of this hotel is really good. We didn't eat dinner there but the breakfast was great, big cups of tea good coffee and the kids loved the pancakes. The hotel was slightly more expensive then other ones but with breakfast and airport transfers thrown in it was a good deal. the hotel is slightly run down,... more

We stayed there for almost two weeks after being in Phnom Penh for about a year. The room was dingy and infested with ants. The hotel manager was pushy and suspiciously insistent that we use our Visa instead of cash- The hotel may have been straight, but all the negatives combined tainted our stay. We began to suspect that there... more

The good parts of this hotel are free internet downstairs, the food I had was pretty good (but over-priced) and the people were nice enough. I was on the 4th floor over looking at the river... nice view. The bad part is that it is way overpriced for what it is. And a mouse ate one of my Clif Bars.... more

I stayed two nights at the River Star. The plus side: it's a good location, right on the river, near bars and restaurants, within walking distance of the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda. The staff is helpful. The rooms are enormous. The down side: The A/C in my room was very weak. Barely kept the room survivable on a 92 degree... more
