i am a regular customer of Royal Guest House. I was feeling warm while i was staying there like home sweet home. The owner and stafffs are friendly and very helpful especially i got a big aircon room with three beds with satelitte TV for just US$15 a night. i and my family stayed there for a week and we... more

I`ve just read some reviews about this place, which was the worst place I have EVER stayed in my life!! Not only because it was noisy, dirty rooms and bedsheets, smelly, the staff was just terrible and not friendly at all, rooms full of bugs, and huge rats running around your feet while you're having a (warm) beer on the... more

I just read the “They will screw you at this hotel” review and I found out that they are even more creative in ripping you off when arranging Visas for Vietnam. We arrived on a Sunday, and we’ve been told that the following day was a holyday, so they would need at least 2 days to arrange our “express visa”.... more

We booked this place because we had seen good reviews including in the lonely planet. We had been in south east asia for 3.5 weeks and this was the worst place we stayed. The sheets were disgusting. The sheets had dirt on them and the doona cover had dried blood. By the time we realised it was to late at... more

By far, the most unfriendly, unhelpful staff I encountered in Cambodia. Got much friendlier service and better facilities at other, cheaper places. Room was serviceable but run-down with more than a few ants as roommates. Not recommended. more

This place is awful. Really made me question Lonely Planet's integrity. I thoroughly do not recommend Royal Guesthouse, it's dirty, really unsafe, bedbug & rat ridden, and expensive - save yourself the agony and stay elsewhere. We're backpackers, so we're quite happy to rough it, but this was definitely at the bottom of the list for guesthouses during our entire... more

couple of blocks from the river, so quieter, less expensive, advise a reservation because lonely planet gave them a great write up recently so they are usually full. safety boxes in the lobby (bring a lock), 24 hour service, restaurant/bar/internet cafe which I did not use. security is most important thing for me as I travel alone and would not... more

Rooms were clean but mine had no window. The price was $12/night and it had a/c and a private bathroom. The building itself was old so it had high ceilings and was once an attractive place. Clean, cheap, budget accomidation with good English spoken by the staff. A night security guard was visable. A small cafe covered basic food needs.... more

I stayed at the Royal Guest House in Phnom Penh for two nights on the 10th of October. When we arrived we were given two room choices. The first one was so dirty and reaked of smoke that I wouldn't let my dog stay in it. The second one seemed better but still had a slight smoke smell. We chose... more
