It is easy to realise. When you see the lobby, the entrance, the reception. This definitely was once a great place. But am afraid cant say the same about it anymore. The phones in the room don't work, the buffet breakfast is just about there. The cornflakes were old and the list continues

I attended a conference recently at this hotel and while the rooms are clean and functional (although the cleaning staff really piled into my new Estee Lauder cream) and there are large, spacious entertainment spaces, the food (for conference delegates) left much to be desired. We had the same meal (limp salad for starters, inedible meat patty and rice for... More

Only because of the public areas, would I highly recommend this hotel. As in most countries in this area of the world, there are no coffee/tea-making facilities, no iron/ironing board and a very small room. The television is old style and takes up a great deal of a cabinet top. In addition, there is no safe in the room. Wi-fi... More

A fairly typical hotel for this part of the world, built I would guess in the late 70s. It looks OK from the outside but is in fact a fairly basic establishment. Check-In is fast and friendly, the elevators extremely slow, and the rooms (at least mine) OK but decidedly basic. The curtains failed to keep the daylight out, the... More

Ak-Keme is in a newer area on the high side of Bishkek with many amenities not found in other hotels...like a swimming pool and sport courts. The room was fine with a small balcony overlooking the mountains to the south. The air conditioning did not work but with a sliding glass door it was less of a problem. The breakfast... More

This is supposed to be a luxury class hotel, but in fact it is a hangover from the Soviet era. The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful, the rooms are to a very basic standard with very few amenities, and the air conditioning doesn't work even on the hottest days and nights. As for breakfast, well it was one of the... More

The hotel is pretty much run down. A/C in the room was not working, After 3 days of numerous complains it was centrally turned on. So, three nights of sleep were destroyed. Outside temperature drops at night a little, but you can't open the terrace door because of highway noise. Breakfast (included) is served between 6 and 10am. If you... More

Apparently the Hyatt is better, so if you can, stay there. Room is Soviet with a hard, awkward bed, no alarm clock, 5 clothing hangers, no coffee maker, no tea kettle, not even pens. The shower varies by room. There are two thin pillows, and you will only have one towel per room. The hotel itself is awful - the... More

I spent one night here and found this to be a very nice hotel. You can see the Tian Shan mountains from most rooms including ours (1508). Free PC access in the business center but not free wifi in the hotel. There is a $10 charge. The air conditioning did not cool as well as we liked, though the minibar... More

This was a nice hotel 7 years ago until it was taken over by a local company. After that there has not been a single renovation done. It is very expensive according to its service and comfort.
