Thawee is a budget guesthouse with some luxuries like cable (not super-slow WiFi) internet, a fridge, TV with several cable/sattelite channels, air conditioning fan and a good powerful shower. Rooms were seviced daily and very clean. Not all rooms have windows, so if that's important to you, ask to see the room before checking in. The staff are the best asset here, they know all the cons and scams and warn about them and advise where to go to buy particular things. It's in the old cente, which means lots of nice old buildings and shops an an endless supply if street food, both in canteens and set up on the street. We're heading back to Vientiane in 3 weeks, and will defiantly stay here
