Booked this myself (I work in travel) and had to pre pay but when I arrived they said I didn't have a booking. I showed them the confirmation but they still couldn't find the booking. They told me that I could pay again direct with them(!!) but we weren't willing to do this as our credit card had already been charged two months prior.

The hotel itself is very rundown. They advertise that the hotel is an old French mansion, but the rooms (stables!) are located next to the "mansion". The pool was about as clear as milk and not suitable for swimming at all.

The location is OK (about the only plus side) very close to the Patuxay and morning markets and only a quick taxi ride into town more
