In Sultanahmet, just a few minutes from the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia, two of the world's greatest architectural achievements, it's not difficult to find a place to sleep. We selected Sydney Hostel because we had stayed here before and we're so happy we did! Our triple room was adequately large, en suite, with a window looking out to the... More

Good location near Blue Mosque, they also sell food and water pipe and are very helpful people. We were a big group (10 people), so we filled one room, the service was good and the people were friendly, the building not so new but the showers, beds and A/C were in good condition.

My main gripe is with Beethoven (not sure if the correct Turkish spelling of his name but that's how it's pronounced) - who is one of the many cousins that run/own the place. First night staying here he followed me in the middle of the night up to the top terrace. At first I thought he was just being friendly... More

Great hostel, stayed in a private room a bit on the small side but did have en- suite and AC !! From the rooftop terrace was a great view of the Bosphorus whilst having a good breakfast included in the price.

Location: The hostel is situated on the main bar/restaurant/clubbing area of old town so it's convenient, only 10 mins walk to Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. Some people may prefer to stay somewhere that's not too busy. Closest tram station would be Sultanahmet. Service: Good. The staff are friendly, quick and helpful. Breakfast: Continental, consists of ham, cheese, cucumber, tomato,... More

Although the people who attended the hostel were very nice, the instalations are really messy and dirty. If you rent a shared room you will have to share only one bathroom with the hole floor. Its really uncomfortable. We stayed in a room with other girls very very noisy, and hardly we couln´t sleep at all. The ubication its comfortable... More

Pros Location - 5-min walk (3 blocks) from the Hagia Sofia, 8-min walk to Blue Mosque, right on the Main Street w/ nightlife, shops, and restaurants Staff - Himdu was an amazinginly friendly and helpful host who went out of his way (gave us an adapter, explained reasonable taxi prices) more than he had to. Rooftop terrace - it was... More

We booked 3 months before our arrival date. All confirmed on email. 6 days before arriving we were told there was a problem with our booking. Actually, it was a problem with management. Seems it was more lucrative to accept a larger booking, over book our room, and then tell us our booking was a problem and there was no... More

Great location in the heart of everything a visitor would want to see. Affordable dorm rooms were pretty cramped (it was the smallest room I'd ever seen for 8 people after a year of travel) but everyone makes it work. Breakfast is basic but filling. In my opinion the rooftop terrace is what sells the place. Spectacular views. Wifi coverage... More

We spent 2 nights there in June 2012. We stayed in double bed room with private bathroom. The location of hostel is perfect: few steps from Blue Mosque and Top Kapi Palace, Aya Sophia. The view from the terrace is amazing. Accommodation. Cleanness: bedclothes are clean, bathroom is clean, but leaking!, room looked at first look clean, but later we... More
