We had left it quite late to book a room in Istanbul so found this 3-star hotel on laterooms.com. The overall impression is one of relaxed warm friendliness, hospitality and a genuine wish help customers by the staff. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, there is a nice roof terrace with fabulous views of the Bosphorus, there was internet access available and staff would quickly deal with any issues. The owner spent over 1 hour helping with onward travel arrangements, making calls on our behalf, etc. Zeki, one of the staff, recommended Kumpapi for a night out and we were so glad to follow his advice - we had one of the best nights out during our whole stay in this vibrant part of town. All this made up for a few inefficiencies/ errors - for example, we had booked a superior room costing Eur10 more but when we arrived, it was mentioned in passing that the room would not be available for the first night so had to stay in a standard room.
