Stayed there 4 nights early May with a travel companion.. Established previous correspondence with the Front Desk Manager, who was helpful enough to accommodate our early check-in at 11am... And literally that's when the comfort ended. There was a renovation project which wasn't informed, room was small (maybe as it's standard type) and located on the basement next to the... More

Where do I start? Let's see...how about the fact that my travel companion had to sleep on the sofa next to the snoring (literally), smelly, diaper-clad puppy that belongs to the owners (who live in the hotel)? Why, you ask? Because my friend and I caught a red-eye flight into Istanbul. As soon as we saw the availability of the... More

I stayed there for 3 nights in the end of March and beginning of April. The weather was great, it was not necessary to use the air conditioning, but I tried to use it just to check and I couldn't make it work. I didn't call anyone cause I would not use it anyway. Bathroom was clean, there was hair... More

Where to start? First let me say I've stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world so I feel qualified to comment. The front door is locked so we had to bang on it for several minutes to even get in. Upon entering, we encounter a dog running around in a diaper (not kidding). Smelled like a kennel. Animals everywhere.... More

BOOK ANOTHER HOTEL if you - do not want a smelly room (room number 302 has a wet carpet close to the balcony due to a leaky roof; damage at the wall is covered by new wall paper) - are not content that the hotel website shows a phantastic roof top terrace, but you are not allowed to use it... More

I visited Istanbul in January 2012 with my wife and son. I wondered about my wife's feelings on first visit of Istanbul, before we stayed usually in 5 star hotels. This time due to limited budget we decided to try hotels which is close to ancient places in Istanbul, especially to Old City, where you can visit Blue Mosque, Aya... More

Just got back from three nigths at the Hilfon. Me and a friend shared a nice clean small twin-bed-room with private bathroom, located right next to the lobby, which meant that we could easily hear people talk during the night, but that was ok - we were so tired every day from walking the streets of Istanbul, that we would... I did not pay a lot for the double room. I got a deal for 24 Euros. It was as advertised. I did not expect anything, therefore there is nothing to complain about. Enjoyed hospitality and cleanness.
