This place is welcoming from the first moment. It was a circuitous ride from the airport and so it was a relief to step into the cool and very Turkish lobby. There was a problem with my reservation, but the hotel resolved it to my satisfaction and I spent my week there in the sea view balcony room on the... More

This was the first hotel that my fiance and I stayed at in Istanbul. It was great to be upgraded to a junior suite when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations were very comfortable. Only downside is that there was a mosque directly outside of our window, so the call to prayer was very clearly projected... We stayed at the Sokullu Pasa Hotel for four nights. The hotel is located in the centre of the historical district of Istanbul, just in walking distance to the main attractions. Our room was amazing! Lovely decorated, very clean and equipped with everything you need to feel at home. The included breakfast offered a great variety of typical turkish and... More

I have to admit that I haven't actually stayed at this hotel although I'd like to have, but I know a little bit about the overall area as I've stayed at another hotel close by, so whilst I can't comment on the experience of staying in the rooms, I have eaten here - and that was twice during my 6... We were unsure where to stay, we decided that old instanbul would be the area we wanted to stay in, travel guy in Turkey recommended it. We checked the web site and took a punt on it, what a great decision. Coming in from the airport we were a little worried as the bus stopped in a side street as... More

We stayed here for a week in March 2011. On arrival, the friendly desk clerk spend half an hour sitting down and discussing options for our day trips without trying to sell us anything! Room had ambiance for reasonable price. If you are allergic or sensitive to perfumes, don't stay here as the linen was heavily perfumed. The room was... More

This hotel is clean, cozy and, most importantly, just a stone's throw from most of the major tourist attractions in Istanbul. The Blue Mosque, for example, is just a five minute walk. Employees are friendly and helpul and the restaurant is quite good, too. More

We knew it was a four star hotel in the old city, but we bought it as part of a package so we thought it should be OK. We didn't expect it to be this gorgeous, or the staff to have this much warmth and charm. The decorations really get you in the mood for Turkey and all the history,... More

The hotel is situated in Sultanahmet what is the heart of the Old City. Almost everything that is worth a visit can be accessed by a 5-10 min. walk, but beware of the steep, ashlared streets, high heels are definitely not recommended there. The building is furnished in Ottoman style, at its best. Marble, oak, silk and velvet are liberally... More
