Yesil Ev was recommended to us by friends. The location in a small street in Sultanahmet is good - a few minutes walk from many of the major sites. At night it is quiet, but on some days there can be a fairly constant stream of passing tour buses. It is also very close to the blue mosque so be... More

Within 5 minutes walk from this hotel you have three of the main sights of old Istanbul - the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace (the Grand Bazaar is about 15 mins away). It's small-scale and old world (except that it offers free wifi). The staff are very friendly and helpful and recognise all their guests. Its garden is... More

My 2nd visit to Istanbul but this time for work so hotel was booked by the company and I was pleasantly surprised. The location was fantastic, right next to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. The hotel iteself was boutique with a lovely leafy courtyard, serving a simple breakfast. The front desk was helpful and friendly. The room were small... More

After a business trip we decided to spend two days as tourists. Rather than a business hotel, we chose a 21 room hotel located in a renovated, large 19th century wood house (except along stretches of the Bosphorous where the rich had summer homes few wood houses remain). We also went for location. Yesil Ev (green house) is located on... More

Location is top notch, how can you beat being between the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya and within walking distance from the Grand Bazaar and other main attractions? If in Istanbul for a short stay, this is an ideal spot from which to see it all. Old fashioned and dated décor but the staff is accommodating and the backyard garden... More

If you require a spacious room with a large bathroom and walk-in shower, the Four Seasons is right around the corner, at about two times the price. Yesil Ev has the feel of a high-end bed and breakfast, in a beautifully restored historic home. Rooms are small and a bit dated, but very comfortable and clean. The garden is spectacular,... More

A very pleasant hotel with a good dining room. However, the constant flow of tour buses heading for the Hagia Sophia/Topkapi Palace detracts from the location in Sultanhamet. Watch our for the treacherous stairs if you have difficulty climbing. More

This is my favourite place in Istanbul; I am a regular since 2004. I simply love it ! It's basically a bouquet pension, has not got the frills of a fancy big name hotel. No TV (who cares ?), gym, etc but free WiFi, a nice garden, nice elegant interiors and its own restaurant. The place is very well located.... More

Very expensive for a deluxe room on the top floor with inadequate air conditioning, a tiny bathroom, no TV and no view as the windows were over my head! No wireless in the the room, had to sit in the hall. The garden restaurant is lovely as is the building, but I saw several other hotels of an equal standard... More
