I spent 3 nights at the Megara Hotel. The location is very great if you are looking for a place in Sultanahmet. It is near to the Sultanahmet tram stop and within walking distance of the main attractions in the area making it easy to zip back to the room during the day. My room was clean (quiet at night).... more

Reception at arrival was kind and professional. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with comfy beds and facilities. Very good location, I would say ideal – the sights, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilika Cistern and Grand Bazar are all in a walking distance. I had a very enjoyable stay. more

Reception at arrival was kind and professional. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with comfy beds and facilities, a bit small though but cozy. Your opinion of the Megara will depend on the room you get. The hotel's web site claims that "most" rooms have views, whereas many look across a narrow light shaft to another room opposite. We booked a "queen size" room but when we checked in were sadly disappointed to be offered a choice of either a tiny room with twin... more

While in the old town section of Istanbul (Blue Mosque area, etc.), my wife and I had to change hotels, due to the original hotel's poor quality. We stopped at the Megara Palace. Hotel managers Ferhan Karagozlu and Mehmet Asal went out of their way to accommodate us in all phases, including reservation changes with the prior hotel and with... more

I found this was good value due to the great location near all the sights, yet on a quiet side street . A adequate breakfast is included and served buffet style on the rooftop with awesome views of the Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea. The hotel is very clean and the staff eager to please. Downside is the size... more

The location was a little bit tricky at first time, but once I found it, it was convinient to reach traditional attractions like the blu mosque. I got a double room that was just enough for a small-sized double bed. The bathroom was clean but the water drain of shower didn't work well. (I asked to fix it, but they... more

Recently I spent six nights at the Megara Hotel. I chose the hotel based on a recommendation from others who’d stayed there and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The location is great if you are looking for a place in Sultanahmet. It is not too far from the Sultanahmet tram stop and within walking distance of the main... more

The hotel was conveniently placed in the Sultanahmet district next to most places of interest in Istanbul (Museums, monuments, bazars, restaurants). The staff were helpful, the rooms small but clean. The view from the breakfast terrasse in the morning was breathtaking, the sea on one side, the mosque on the other. A very reasonably prices hotel in Istanbul. more

We moved to the Megara hotel after spending a night at another hotel a couple of streets away which was far too noisy. The Megara was so quiet in comparison, cheaper yet still luxurious, and had better views from the roof terrace (you can see the blue mosque). Mehmet was so friendly and made our time there really easy, arranging... more
