The hotel is one grade down from the palaces on the North Beach front, but is very central and clean. We didn't eat in because there were plenty of restaurants nearby. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Eilat for 1 day on our way to Petra. The hotel is big and within walking distance of all that Eilat has to offer (which is not very much ) It was also about 10 minutes drive to the Jordanian border which is what we were there for. Pool closing at 6pm with 2 hours of daylight left?....ridiculous...opening at 10am the next day? ridiculous.....Most Israeli hotels are a joke and this one is no exception......just today 4 "Sheraton" hotels in Israel lost their naming right....I wonder why??? Poorest service in the world, lazy and arrogant receptionists, housekeepers, indifferent management, crowded dirty breakfast zone, ugly-loud-noise-they-call-it-music pool area. Having read previous reviews, I was apprehensive. We were with a group tour, so had to go where we were booked. The lobby was shiny and impressive. The check-in was quick, efficient and cordial. Expecting bad, we went to our room to find that it was recently painted, acceptably clean and had a nice view of the pool and "laguna"... more

We arrived at the hotel at about 14:00 and were told that the room wasn't ready. The front desk asked for my mobile phone number to call us when the room was ready.
